Golar LNG's newly converted floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU), Golar Winter, has left the Keppel shipyard in Singapore en route for Brazil.

The vessel will be deployed at Petrobras's LNG import facility in Guananbara Bay off Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, Seatrade Asia Online reports.

The unit is the world's first conversion of an LNG carrier to regasification unit. Golar is planning to convert three more ships into FSRUs.
