Venezuela is to nationalise its port operators as part of presidential plans to gain state control over key areas of the economy.

The affected ports receive many of the imports that Venezuela depends on, apart from vital oil shipping.

According to an official government gazette, the authorities have already started revising the contracts of the port operators, writes Reuters.
