Attica Signs €137m Shipbuilding Contract

Attica Group has signed a €137m shipbuilding contract with Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering to build two monohull-type, fast car-passenger ferries.

The ships measure 145.5m in length, cruise at 25.5kt and carry 2,400 passengers and 450 private vehicles or 50 freight units and 150 private vehicles.

The first vessel will be delivered in spring 2011 and the second in the first quarter of 2012.

Attica will operate the ferries in Greek domestic waters.
