China-based Yantai Raffles Shipyard has launched its first elevating support vessel (ESV), Remedial ESV Guardian, for Remedial Offshore.

The ESV unit consists of a jack-up platform, an ocean-going vessel, workover drilling rig, heavy-lift cranes and an offshore accommodation platform in a single package.

Designed to optimise well interventions in water depths up to 325ft, the ESV allows elevated operations of up to 55ft away from the well structure.

The vessel will be delivered by the end of 2009.
