Euroseas purchased the 74,020dwt carrier for $27.5m and has a time charter to the end of the year at a $25,200 gross daily rate.
Following the acquisition, about 70% of the firm’s fleet days outstanding in 2009 and about 40% in 2010 are fixed as per FFA contracts.
Euroseas owns and operates container vessels and dry bulk carriers and is a seaborne transportation provider for containerised and dry bulk cargoes.
