The Port of San Diego has awarded a design contract for a mobile passenger boarding bridge (PBB).

The PBB, to be built by 2010, will be for the new cruise terminal presently being built on Broadway Pier in San Diego.

The Port of San Diego presented Southern California-based Jaynes Corporation the construction contract for the new cruise terminal and PBB.

The Jaynes Corporation was responsible for selecting the designer of the bridge.

The 40m PBB will be located behind the terminal facility and will be able to connect with different entry points on the second floor of the terminal building as well as several cruise ship doors.

The PBB will also have a cabin that contains an integrated hydraulic, telescopic, docking ramp.
