The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has fined APM Terminals Pacific for violating its stormwater permit at the EPA’s Port of Los Angeles facility.

Terminals Pacific, which is one of the world’s largest container terminal companies, reportedly discharged industrial-activity stormwater at its marine shipping container terminal facility.

According EPA rules, this violates both the Clean Water Act and the California National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System.

The company must pay a fine of $47,100.
