Iran has launched its second oceangoing vessel with a carrying capacity of more than 30,000t of cargo or 2,200 containers.
The 7,000t Iran-Arak ocean liner was manufactured by Iran’s Shipbuilding and Offshore Industries Company.
The vessel was built at the Industrial Development and Renovation Organisation of Iran at a cost of almost IRR500bn ($50m). Two foreign firms have also participated in the project.
The 20,000t oceangoing vessel Iran Alborz, which has a carrying capacity of 2,200 containers, is scheduled for dispatch tomorrow.
