Shanghai-based crane manufacturer ZPMC has delivered two quay and four rubber-tyred gantry cranes to the Saigon Premier Container Terminal (SPCT).

The delivery is the first of three expected from ZPMC.

Capable of handling Panamax vessels and lifting two 20ft containers at a time, the quay cranes can lift 65t under container spreader and 80t under hook.

Located 15km south of Hoh Chi Minh City centre in Vietnam, SPCT is a joint venture between DP World (80%) and IPC (20%), with DP World as operator.

The terminal is expected to open in October 2009.
