A number of carriers have diverted import services due to a stevedores strike at the Buenos Aires Puerto Nuevo port in Argentina.

NYK Line, Hyundai, K Line and PIL have all left behind export cargo and diverted services, according to seatradeasia-online.com.

Carriers are diverting imports to the port of Montevideo across the River Plate in Uruguay.

About 30 vessel calls have been affected so far and nearly 4,000 extra export containers are in the port area, the news service reports.
