China’s Shenzhen Depot Plans Expansion

Chinese Shenzhen Hutchison Inland Container Depots is to start a two-phase expansion programme, to meet the increasing needs of the cargo trade.

Two export-supervisory warehouses, each covering an area of 2ha, will be built during phase I of the project, the company said.

Scheduled to open in 2010, work on the first warehouse will start this month.

The second warehouse is expected to be complete by 2011.

Preparation work for the 25ha phase II project is underway and once the two projects are completed, SHICD will have a total area of 60ha.
