Global shipbuilder STX Europe announced that it has signed a contract with Deep Sea Supply to design and build an environmentally friendly Platform Supply Vessel (PSV).

The PSV 09 CD design is optimised for eco-drive in all weather conditions, and also to reduce water resistance and improve fuel consumption. The ship will be designed by STX Europe in Ålesund, Norway.

Scheduled for delivery in first quarter of 2012, the ship will be built at STX Europe in Brazil.

The contract is signed with Deep Sea Supply Navegação Maritima in Brazil, a subsidiary of Deep Sea Supply.
