The Russian United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) is planning to develop four specialised shipbuilding regions to boost the marine industry.

Zone East in Primorsky Krai will specialise in making ocean-going platforms and large-displacement transport vessels, while Zone Amur will focus on the construction of military-oriented submarines, surface ships, and civil vessels.

The third zone, the Khabarovsk shipyard will focus on low-tonnage ships, with civil and commercial orientation.

It is planned for the fourth zone, Zone Zvezda, to construct gas tankers with capacities of up to 250,000t.
