STX Produces Largest Ship Engine

South Korean shipbuilding firm STX Heavy Industries has reportedly produced what it calls the world’s largest marine engine. The 12K98MC-C low-speed marine engine will be installed in a 13,000teu containership under construction at its sister company STX Offshore & Shipbuilding.

The 12K98MC-C low-speed marine engine will be installed in a 13,000teu containership under construction at its sister company STX Offshore & Shipbuilding.

STX Heavy is believed to have developed the engine over five years.
