Keppel Shipyard is on course to deliver a floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel to BW Pioneer, an affiliate of BW Offshore.

The vessel, also named BW Pioneer, has been leased by Petrobras America to operate in the Cascade and Chinook fields of the US Gulf of Mexico, with production scheduled for the first quarter of 2010.

The ship is equipped with an internal disconnectable submerged turret production mooring system.

BW Pioneer has a storage capacity of nearly 600,000 barrels of oil, a process capacity of 80,000bopd and gas export facilities of 16mmscfd.

The ship is the second FPSO Keppel has delivered to BW Offshore this year, after FPSO BW Cidade de Sao Vicente was delivered as an early well test FPSO for the Tupi deepwater field.
