The US Port of Pittsburgh has applied for a $35.21m Department of Transportation TIGER Grant for the deployment of two communication systems. The systems, if funding is received, will be used at 200 hot zones throughout the inland waterway system for the creation of a waterways intellig

The US Port of Pittsburgh has applied for a $35.21m Department of Transportation TIGER Grant for the deployment of two communication systems.

The systems, if funding is received, will be used at 200 hot zones throughout the inland waterway system for the creation of a waterways intelligent transportation system.

Wireless broadband and automated identification system will be incorporated as part of the project.
