ODIM has been awarded a contract to deliver a handling system for an oceanographic research vessel.

Under the $7.85m deal, the global technology group will also supply ODIM CTCU deepwater technology to Wuchang Shipyard, China.

The company said it will facilitate the shipyard with ODIM Compact CTCU cable traction control unit with a lifting capacity of 20t.

The delivery scheduled for December 2010 includes deck equipment, overboard systems and associated control systems.

The ODIM Compact CTCU is a smaller version of the technology, which can be utilised as part of a complete oceanographic research system.

This is the third assignment delivered by the company to the oceanographic market.
