Thor to Tackle Piracy

Security services provider Thor Global Defense Group is in talks with about 16 maritime corporations to tackle the problem of piracy.

Thor said it has taken steps to provide solutions to protect shipping vessels, employees and cargo.

Patrols in threatened areas have been increased, but with forces spread thinly, there is still a gap in the ability to completely quash piracy.

The US-based group has previously said it has forces positioned in many key locations worldwide so it can respond quickly to any incident.
