Shipping conglomerate COSCO is in talks with Australian energy firm Solar Sailor to add solar wings to some of its fleet’s large tankers.

Solar Sailor, which has created rigid sails covered in solar panels that can bend and fold depending on the direction of the sun and wind, plans to introduce the technology in Shanghai and San Francisco.

COSCO is believed to be in talks with national nuclear authorities to develop nuclear-powered ships.
