Global cargo handling company Cargotec said it has won a deal to deliver a range of MacGregor offshore and subsea load handling systems to a deep-sea research vessel to be built at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Shimonoseki shipyard, Japan.

Cargotec said the contract covers some MacGregor products for ultra deep-water operations and deck handling machinery, which will be manufactured at Cargotec’s production facility in Kristiansand, Norway.

Systems ordered include a large knuckle-jib crane; an advanced moonpool-based module handling system, deck-skid system and deep-sea AHC winches with a capacity down to 10,000m.
