Green Star Products said that its new fuel additive has reduced fuel consumption by 12% following testing on two Greek maritime ships.

The renewable fuel producer said its Diesel Fuel Energiser (DFE) was added to the fuel tanks of two caterpillar ship engines and two caterpillar generator sets.

The company said the engines also revealed a reduction in noise and a decrease in smoke emissions.

DFE is used in marine fuels to help reducing emissions including NOx particulates (PM- 10) from 10 to 40%, the company said.

Green Star is in the process of cutting oils for machine shops and drilling compounds for oil well drilling.
