The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has approved the purchase of a state-of-the-art vessel tracking device in an effort to ensure a complete streamlining of the petroleum and supply chain in the country.

The deployment of ultra-modern vessel tracking enables the NNPC special task force war room to maintain continuous tracking of ships and ocean liners transporting petroleum products to Nigeria.

NNPC subsidiary Pipelines and Products Marketing Company’s executive director Mallam Farouk Ahmed said the device enables the NNPC to predict when vessels will arrive and make contingency arrangements in case of any delays.
