Sembawang Shipyard, a subsidiary of Sembcorp Marine in Singapore, has secured longevity, upgrading and damage repair contracts worth S$130m ($92m).

Sembawang’s longevity contract for North West Shelf LNG Venture’s Northwest Snipe includes ballast tanks blasting and coating work, hull structural enhancement and integrated automation system renewal.

The company will also work on HVAC and refrigeration system renewal, cargo and ballast valve actuator system replacement and boiler system renewal.

Under a Taiwanese damage repair contract, Sembawang will complete the steelwork, renew the accommodation block and retrofit the electrical and instrumentation work of the engine room.

Other contracts include three vessel upgrading/repair projects from cruise owners such as Star Cruises, Carnival Cruise Line and PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia.

In January, the company signed a contract with Eitzen Group which will send about six to eight ships to the shipyard for scheduled and upgrade repairs.
