An emergency response and rescue vessel (ERRV) has been launched by North Star Shipping for service in the North Sea.

The Grampian Confidence is an NSS-IMT 948-designed ship equipped with two daughter craft and one fast rescue craft.

The Confidence is one of four vessels on order to be delivered in the next 12 months, boosting North Star’s fleet of seven ERRVs.

The vessel is part of the group’s £130m ($196m) investment programme that began in 2003.

The Confidence is expected to support operations with CNR International at the Ninian Complex in the East Shetland basin in April 2010.
