Dassault Systemes has signed an agreement with German shipyard Meyer Werft to provide a V6 product lifecycle management (PLM) platform for collaborative product development.

Dassault Systemes, a 3D and PLM solutions provider, will work with IBM Global Business Services to provide transformation consulting, implementation and integration services.

Dassault said V6 will enable the shipbuilder to provide online access to the 3D definition and product data of its ships in design and production.

IBM consultants will design a sustainable architecture for the integration of V6 PLM with the existing application and process environment.

The Meyer Werft shipyard has been responsible for ships such as the Aurora, Superstar Leo and Celebrity Equinox.
