Mitsui Ocean Development & Engineering’s floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel is 95% complete and will arrive in Ghana in June.

Capable of processing 120,000 barrels of oil a day with a storage capacity of 1.6 million barrels, the vessel will operate in Ghana’s 1.5km-deep Jubilee oil field.

The FPSO is presently undergoing final fittings at the Jurong shipyard in Singapore.

It is expected to have an initial lifespan of 25 years, proportional to the estimated life of the Jubilee reserves.

The company said the vessel is also fitted with a water treatment module, which filters and de-oxygenates sea water.
