Bourbon Reduces Supramax Fleet

French shipping group Bourbon has sold seven Supramax bulk carriers for $227.5m on order at China’s Dayang Shipbuilding. Spar Shipping in Norway bought six 58,000dwt bulk carriers for $195m while Western Bulk brought one ship for $32.5m. The vessels will be delivered early in 2011

French shipping group Bourbon has sold seven Supramax bulk carriers for $227.5m on order at China’s Dayang Shipbuilding.

Spar Shipping in Norway bought six 58,000dwt bulk carriers for $195m while Western Bulk brought one ship for $32.5m.

The vessels will be delivered early in 2011, reports lloydslist.com.

The group’s bulk shipping subsidiary Setaf Saget is expected to cancel two Panamax orders from India’s Pipavav Shipyard.
