During the year the port’s container traffic rose 11% to 289,817teu compared to 260,784teu in 2008-09.
Vessel traffic at the port increased 18%, while the average turnaround time of ships rose 3% and the average ship berth day output improved 2%, the statement read.
Cochin Port expects to handle 19.11 million tons of cargo in 2010.
