Hanjin Shipping has received an 8,600teu vessel from Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries.
The 335m-long Hanjin Long Beach has a displacement of 91,600mt, a carrying capacity of 8,586teu and a cruising speed of 25.2kts.
Hanjin said the vessel is the first of a series of five which will join the company’s NE-4 (Asia North Europe) service from 29 April in QingDao.
It said the engine of the ship is fuel efficient and changes its speed according to operational requirements.
The South Korean shipping firm will receive the remaining four vessels in regular succession after 2011.
