Wartsila has received a contract from China’s Zhejiang Share-ever Business to supply engines for a 38,000t semi-submersible heavy-lift vessel.

The company said it will supply three nine-cylinder in-line Wartsila 32 generating sets for a diesel electric installation as well as three tunnel thrusters.

The 195m-long, 8.6m-wide vessel will be primarily used for transporting offshore equipment for the oil and gas industry, the company said.

The vessel, which can also assist commercial and naval ships in re-floating and similar operations, is expected to be delivered by late 2011.
