Fairstar Heavy Transport has secured two transport contracts worth $90m from a Chevron Australia and Kellogg joint venture to provide two semi-submersible heavy transport vessels.
Under the contract, Fairstar will transport materials from various construction sites throughout Asia to the Gorgon Project’s LNG plant on Barrow Island, off the north-west coast of Australia.
The contracts are for a minimum term of one year and can be extended for an additional four months, Fairstar said.
The Gorgon Project is operated by a joint venture made up of Chevron Australia, ExxonMobil, Shell, Osaka Gas, Tokyo Gas and Chubu Electric.
