Fairstar has signed a contract with Chinese ship builder Guangzhou Shipyards International to build two 50,000dwt open stern, semi-submersible vessels (SSVs).
The Forte and the Finesse will cost $101m each and will join Fairstar’s Fjord and Fjell, the company said.
The first ship will be delivered in December and the second in 2011.
Fairstar, which will finance the order through equity and long-term debt, has appointed ABG Sundal Collier, Carnegie and SEB Enskilda as financial advisers for the order.
