DSME Delivers Asia’s Largest Heavy Lift Carrier to TPI

Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) has delivered Asia's largest submersible heavy lift carrier, the Mega Passion, to TPI Mega Line. The shipbuilding company said the 203m-long, 63m-wide vessel has a displacement capacity of 53,000t and a cruising speed of up to 12.5kts.

Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) has delivered Asia’s largest submersible heavy lift carrier, the Mega Passion, to TPI Mega Line.

The shipbuilding company said the 203m-long, 63m-wide vessel has a displacement capacity of 53,000t and a cruising speed of up to 12.5kts.

The vessel, equipped with the company’s dynamic positioning system, can submerge up to 11m deep, transport ultra-large ship blocks and offshore structures as well as launch offshore platforms, according to asiasis.com .

DSME said it has signed a ten-year-long charter contract with TPI Mega Line for the vessel to increase its transport capability.
