China Harbour Engineering has signed a deal with Sri Lanka to start the second phase of a new port in Hambantota on the country’s south coast. China's Government has offered financial assistance of $200m for the project, which will begin in November. The second phase include

China's Government has offered financial assistance of $200m for the project, which will begin in November.

The second phase includes excavation for the harbour basin, dredging the approach channel and building berths.
