PD Ports Invests in Terminal Expansion Project

PD Ports will invest around £29m ($44m) to expand the English sea port of Teesport.

The first phase of the project, valued at £15m ($22.7m), will expand Teesport’s container terminal capacity from 235,000teu to 450,000teu.

The project will also expand the port’s capacity, including Ro/Ro traffic, to at least 650,000teu, the company said.

Work is scheduled to begin in November 2010 and will run for around ten months.
