Kleven Maritime will build a multifunctional platform supply vessel for Meling Supply AS under a Nkr375m ($58.44m) contract.

The shipbuilding company said the VS 485 will be a fuel-efficient supply vessel with an optimised cargo capacity above and below its deck.

The 500dwt ship will accommodate a crew of 64 and will be installed with a crane and helicopter deck.

Design, automation and electrical systems will be delivered by Wartsila.

The ship will be constructed at Myklebust Verft in Gursken, Norway, and delivered on 28 February 2011.
