Zhejiang Zhenghe Signs Newbuild Order

Zhejiang Zhenghe Shipbuilding has secured an order to build five 76,000dwt bulkers for Chinese shipowner Dongguan Haichang Shipping. The order is part of Dongguan's Panamax expansion programme, which will cost Zhejiang around CNY200m ($29.5m) a ship, according to asiasis.com. The

The order is part of Dongguan’s Panamax expansion programme, which will cost Zhejiang around CNY200m ($29.5m) a ship, according to asiasis.com.

The company expects to take delivery of the first vessel in January 2011.

According to a Dongguan official, the Panamax ships will be flagged in China.
