Huisman has signed an agreement with Heerema Offshore Services to deliver mission equipment for its new deep-water construction vessel.

The Netherlands-based marine company said it would design, construct and install an offshore mast crane and a pipelay tower for the vessel’s J-lay and Reel-lay operations in ultra-deep water.

The crane, with a lift capacity of 4,000t, will be built in China and installed onboard the vessel at the DSME yard in South Korea in 2012.

The pipelay will feature two pipe tensioners, each with a capacity of 400t, that will be installed over a moonpool, it said.

Huisman said it would also deliver moveable pipe reels, PLET handling equipment, A&R winches and a deep-water lowering system to the vessel.

All pipelay equipment will be built and installed at its facility in Schiedam. The vessel is scheduled to arrive at the facility in December 2012.
