Indonesian state oil company Pertamina has ordered six tankers for $102m to be built at domestic ship yards.
PAL Indonesia will build two 17,000dwt vessels worth around $49m, while DPS will construct one 6,500dwt vessel for $14.5m, Pertamina said.
DRU and Dumas shipyards have secured contracts to build one 3,500dwt vessel each, costing the oil firm around $12.8m.
The company, which is also considering building another 3,500dwt ship, expects to take delivery of the vessels within two years.
Pertamina is planning to increase its fleet from 170 tankers to 217 by 2014, according to jakartapost.com.
