Qidong Daoda Secures Bulker Order

Qidong Daoda Heavy Industry in China has secured a contract from Polembros to build four 205,000dwt bulkers. Polembros said the contract is the company's third newbuild order since the end of last year, bringing its investment in new ships close to $400m, according to asiasis.com.

The Greek shipping company, however, has not revealed the contract value and cost of each of the bulkers.

Polembros has also signed a deal to build a pair of 81,000dwt Kamsarmax vessels and two 180,000dwt Capesizes, scheduled for delivery in 2011.
