ASL Wins Newbuild Contract

ASL Marine Holdings subsidiary ASL Shipyard has secured a newbuild contract worth S$55m ($40m) for 30 vessels. The Singapore-based company said the vessels consist of two azimuth stern drive tugs, a pipelay barge and 27 cargo barges. ASL said the barges are expected to be delivere

ASL Marine Holdings subsidiary ASL Shipyard has secured a newbuild contract worth S$55m ($40m) for 30 vessels.

The Singapore-based company said the vessels consist of two azimuth stern drive tugs, a pipelay barge and 27 cargo barges.

ASL said the barges are expected to be delivered by the first quarter of 2011, while the azimuth tugs will be ready by Q1 2012.

The company has not revealed the owner of the vessels.
