Pertamina said it will expand its fleet by adding 18 tankers at an investment of $600m.
The vessels include five cargo tankers, three 80,000dwt tankers, two 17,500dwt tankers, two 3,500dwt tankers and one 6,500dwt tanker.
Pertamina said the purchase also includes two LPG carriers with a capacity of 23,000m³, an LPG carrier of 5,500m³ and two LPG carriers of 3,500m³.
The agreement will increase the company’s crude oil transport capacity from 31.7 million tons to 32.9 million tons, and non fuels from 5.5 million tons to 7.4 million tons by 2012.
The firm operates 190 tankers.
