Hyundai Heavy Moves into Drillship Sector

Hyundai Heavy Industries is building a third drillship following the completion of two vessels, marking its entry into drillship building. The 229.22m-long vessels will be delivered in May 2011. Hyundai said the ships will be used for oil exploration in deep waters.

Hyundai Heavy Industries is building a third drillship following the completion of two vessels, marking its entry into drillship building.

The 229.22m-long vessels will be delivered in May 2011.

Hyundai said the ships will be used for oil exploration in deep waters.

The company’s orders for ships and plants have more than doubled in the last seven months to $11.3bn compared with the same period in 2009.
