FreeSeas Orders Handysize Vessels

FreeSeas has ordered a pair of Handysize drybulk vessels from an undisclosed shipbuilder for $48.8m. The 33,600dwt vessels are scheduled for delivery in the second and third quarters of 2012. The vessels will be built at Jiangsu Yangzijiang Shipbuilding in China, according to asia

FreeSeas will finance the purchase through a $32.4m loan from an unnamed bank, with the remainder from its own balance sheet.
