Hamworthy Wins Ship Equipment Contract

Hamworthy in the UK has secured a £20m contract from Nantong Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering in China to supply equipment for liquid ethylene gas carriers.

Under the contract, Hamworthy will supply cargo-handling systems for six ethylene vessels, a reliquefaction plant and cargo pumps.

The equipment will be installed in 139m-long semi-pressurised and refrigerated liquid ethylene gas carriers, which are being built for Jaccar Holdings in Luxembourg.

Hamworthy said the systems are scheduled for delivery between December 2011 and mid 2013.
