Sembcorp Marine’s Sembawang Shipyard has secured a contract from Carnival Corporation for ship repair, refurbishment and upgrade services.

Under the agreement, the company will repair the passenger ships at Sembawang Shipyard, Indonesia.

The contract does, however, exclude Princess Cruises’ ships, which are too large for Sembawang shipyard’s dry docks.

Sembwang expects three to four cruise ships each year with a refit value of S$5m (US$3.82m) to S$10m (US$7.65m) and upgrade ranges from S$20m (US$15m) to S$50m (US$38m).
