Bibby Ship Management, a UK-based third party ship manager and part of Bibby Line Group, has acquired Murray Fenton (India) Surveyors for an undisclosed amount.
Murray Fenton (India) Surveyors offers a wide range of marine surveying services, including marine hull and ship condition assessment, cargo surveying and marine audit services.
Under the marine hull service, the company performs damage surveys, loss assessment, casualty investigation, and ship condition surveys, including ultrasonic testing of hatch covers.
For cargo, the company performs damage surveys, container surveying, and loss assessment and quantification of dry, liquid and gas cargo.
Murray Fenton also offers transportation of heavy lifts and over-dimensional cargo.
The acquisition, which was made through Bibby Ship Management India, will allow the company to expand its marine, cargo and offshore surveying services including marine audit services in India.
The company will initially start operations in Mumbai and Gujarat, with plans for expansion to other areas in future.
Bibby Ship Management India managing director Prakash Agarwal said this acquisition would significantly enhance the services offered by Bibby’s India operations.
