Dalby Offshore Renewables, an operator of anchor handling tug/supply vessels in the offshore oil and gas industry, has acquired a pair of new crew transfer vessels from Alicat Workboats of Great Yarmouth.

Powered by twin Caterpillar C32 1319Hp engines, the two new 20m propeller driven vessels deliver a top speed of over 30 knots.

Dalby Humber, the first of the two boats, was delivered to the company and will begin work immediately on the London Array working out of Ramsgate.

The second vessel is currently being built and is scheduled to be delivered next month.

Alicat Workboats general manager Steve Thacker said that the delivery of these vessels to Dalby Offshore will enhance the company’s business model to build a quality vessel for safe and effective crew transfer in the wind farm market.

"Further, we look to strengthening the relationship with Stuart McNiven and the Dalby team with further announcements expected in the near future," Thacker said.

Dalby Offshore managing director Stuart McNiven said that the company has taken the delivery of Dalby Humber after extensive analysis of the market.

"The Humber offers a multi-functional platform with cargo carrying capability and high fuel delivery." McNiven said.
