Netherlands-based Seacontractors has signed a contract with Damen Shipyards Group to deliver three new vessels.
Under the contract, Damen will deliver a 50t Damen Shoalbuster 3209 and two new 70t bollard pull Stan Tug 3011.
Commenting on the new Stan Tug design, Seacontractors managing owner Xander Schanssema said: "What drew us to the new STu 3011 is the wider design, compact with extra space on deck.
"And we also knew that we could rely on Damen for our pretty demanding list of customisations."
The new Stan Tugs, which will be named Atlantis and Dian Kingdom, will be deployed for anchoring handling and terminal works. The vessels will be customised at Damen’s new Song Cam yard in Vietnam and are expected to be delivered in June 2015.
The newbuild Damen SBu 3209, which will be named Sea India, has a draught of only 3.3m and suitable for the operations in harbours, inland and coastal waters.
It is the ninth vessel from the Shoalbuster range and first of this kind that is equipped with FiFi-1 firefighting in the existing fleet.
Customisation of the vessel is currently in process at Damen Shipyards Sharjah, UAE under the supervision of Hardinxveld Shipyards. Delivery of the vessel is scheduled to take place on 25 November this year.
