Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS) Argentina has advised that heavy floods in Argentina have disrupted several port terminals in San Lorenzo–San Martin Port, affecting the shore-based logistical support in the region.

Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS) Argentina has advised that heavy floods in Argentina have disrupted several terminals in San Lorenzo-San Martin Port, affecting shore-based logistical support in the region.

The port terminals that have been severely impacted by flooding include Vincentin, Nidera, Toepfer and LD-Timbues-Noble.

ISS Argentina, in a statement referring to the flooding emergency, urged ship owners and operators not to send any trucks with commodities to Vincentin terminal.

The maritime services provider has suspended trucks to be received on 25 October at Toepfer, and halted the truck activities at Nidera and LDC-Timbues terminals until further notice, with reports of roads blocked by flood waters.

ISS Argentina operations manager Gabriel Curtarelli said that the restoration of services like fresh water and telephone lines is taking place at a slow pace in the San Lorenzo area, which was badly impacted by the floods, with uprooted trees and damaged properties.

"We anticipate further disruption over the next five to seven days before all services are restored," Curtarelli said.

ISS Argentina said it will continue to monitor the flood conditions and update the customers of ship operators.
